February 2008:

 

Conducted the annual review of EEO and civil rights matters

 

Reviewed average costs of conservation practices, increasing approved rates for tile and earthwork to keep up with current prices.

 

Approved support for the annual High School Envirothon competition.

 

Gathered ideas for the website and newsletter.

March 2008:

 

Kevin Holl has been named new Regional Director for CDI Region 6.

 

The 2008 scholarship winners are Matthew Burt and Daniel Hemesath.  Burt’s application will be entered for the regional and state competition.

 

April 2008

 

Prepared a resolution to recommend a change to the criteria for scholarship applications.

 

Viewed 130 posters entered in the 2008 poster contest, “Water Is Life”, and selected winners in each grade level.

 

Heard about the Union Grove Lake watershed project.

 

Finalized plans for a public meeting announcing the sign-up for the Conservation Security Act (CSP).
