Next regular meeting
The next regular meeting of the Marshall Soil and Water Conservation District
commissioners will be held Monday, October 20, 2008, at 7:30 a.m. in the District
office at 2608 South Second Street in Marshalltown.

2008 CONSERVATION TOUR

A group of approximately 20 people joined the
annual conservation tour on June 30, 2008. This included
commissioners and staff, as well as a reporter from the Marshalltown
Times Republican and other interested persons. Chairman Holl
had invited the six local candidates for State Representative and State
Senate, and four of them came to the tour.
The group made three stops at area farms that use
conservation practices to help curtail erosion and keep the soil
productive.
This spring's heavy rains have showed how important
it is to have good soil conservation practices in place. |
