Next meeting

The next regular meeting of the Marshall Soil and Water Conservation District commissioners will be held on
Monday, September 20, 2010, at 7:30 a.m. in the district office at 2608 South Second Street in Marshalltown. 

 

In compliance with Iowa's Open Meetings Law, all meetings are open to the public, and complete copies of the meeting minutes are available upon request.

Staff and commissioners toured several  conservation practices for our June tour. This water control device controls the level of the water in the pond.

A blind inlet like this one can be used to prevent erosion at the end of a waterway.  This site was a non-cost share site. Another method of stabilizing a waterway outlet is the use of rip-rap, as shown in this view.
